Surviving to Thriving

Did you know more than 20,000 children are homeless in Chicago?

It’s difficult to wrap one’s head around this — it seems unreal. But it’s real.

Children and families in Chicago’s underserved communities are just trying to survive. Daily, they struggle with unemployment, housing insecurity, hunger, health disparity, and exposure to violence. Yet, they are resilient. But they still need your help to thrive.

Small Steps, Big Results

Every small step can have big results. When we founded Child Thrive last year, we wanted to give children a safe space to learn social and emotional skills after school. Child Thrive is helping community children with trauma counseling, youth mentoring, and access to primary care services.

And it all started with your support.

Your Support Matters

“I am the first person in my family to graduate from high school and the first to go to college . . . I’m so thankful to Children’s Place for helping me throughout my life. They are a big reason why I have a bright future.” -Deanna, former Children’s Place client; graduated from college in 2015

Deanna wouldn’t be thriving right now without your support. We exist because of you — the kind-hearted, generous champions who take action to improve lives and help create a better Chicago.

That’s why your support on #GivingTuesday is so critical: Every dollar raised will help us reach more young lives in need of our lifesaving and life-affirming services.

Join us on Tuesday, November 29th, for #GivingTuesday and be part of our continued work lifting up Chicago’s most vulnerable children.
