Individual Volunteer Opportunities

The Children's Place Association has opportunities for individuals to use their talents to help us touch the lives of vulnerable children from across Chicagoland. Once you complete our online individual volunteer application we will contact you to determine the best fit based on your interests and skills.
Current individual volunteer opportunities include:
- Foster Children Play Group Volunteer*: Plan and provide stimulating play time for foster children on the fourth Wednesday evening of every month.
- Moms Support Group Volunteer*: Care for the children of mothers participating in the support groups, Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
- Spanish-Speaking Moms Support Group Volunteer*:Help care for children of parents participating in this suppor session. Bilingual capabilities preferred for this once-a-month Saturday session from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
- Parent Support Group*: Provide care for children of parents attending this weekly support session, held Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
- Childcare Volunteer*: Care for children through playing, reading, games and arts and crafts, on a weekly basis. Volunteers are needed in our Residential Center with children from birth to 10 years and our Early Learning Center with children 6 months to 5 years.
- Family Event Volunteer*: Help with annual family events including Adopt-A-Family Holiday Gift and Gift Card Drive, Holiday Party and Back-to-School Supply Drive. You can also assist with field trips and other special projects at our Early Learning Center.
- Administrative Support: Volunteer at one of our three locations and provide administrative support. Tasks may include data entry, filing, answering phones and mailings.
- Fundraising Event Volunteer: Special events help raise funds necessary to maintain our programs and services, including our premiere event the Once Upon A Time black tie gala, annual AIDS Run/Walk or personal fundraisers. Volunteers play a crucial role in these events, see our calendar of events for upcoming special event opportunities.

*Volunteers for these opportunities must be over the age of 18 and are required to go through a criminal background check, health screening, character references and attendance at a volunteer information session. This process helps ensure the safety of our children and their families and the success of our programs. You will receive the necessary information after completing the online application form.
