  Residence

The Residential Center is the only facility in the Chicago area which provides short-term housing, medical care, and other therapeutic services for HIV/AIDS-affected children, healthy children of infected parents, and children at risk due to parental substance abuse.

The 10-bed facility provides 24-hour care by specially trained registered nurses, child care workers, and dedicated volunteers. The staff and volunteers strive to make the Center as home-like as possible – a place where children laugh, rock, nap, eat, and play.

The Residential Center is more than just a place to stay. To promote the growth & development of children in our care, the Center provides a structured learning environment that includes school activities, community outings, and art projects. The Children’s Place Association also provides Family Services to support and engage the families of children at the Residence.
