  Foster Parent Program

At The Children’s Place Association, every effort is made to support the parent/child relationship and to reunite families after a child is placed in state custody. In many instances this reunion may not be possible. That is when the Foster Care Program steps in to provide a loving foster family for children in need.

The Children’s Place Association's Foster Care Program recruits, trains, licenses and supervises individuals and couples to become foster parents. By operating its own Foster Care Program, our agency can match children with special needs to foster parents capable of caring for them.

To help the child adjust to a new home, trained social workers teach parents how to understand and support traumatized children by recognizing and resolving the stages of mourning, grief, anger and other related feelings of separation and loss.

The Foster Care Program is also based at the Family Center.

Be a Foster or Adoptive Parent

The Children’s Place Association seeks parents who will offer the security, guidance and love every child needs to develop and blossom. The Foster Care Program’s primary objective is to provide stable and loving homes for each child.

We give priority to foster parents who:

Are fully prepared to care for the children as long as avoiding short-term placements.
Can accommodate sibling groups and support visits by biological parents and extended family members.
The Program can also facilitate adoptions for those children who become eligible.
